I actually serve mine over mashed potatoes. But I LOVE hilopites. This is the one I had and didn't like: http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-SNFGA-Pasta-Attachment-Mixers/dp/B00004SGFN
After I posted, I saw kitchenaid now has a roller attachment: http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KPRA-Roller-Attachment-Mixers/dp/B00004SGFS
I think the roller attachment would be just fine, although it is pretty pricy.Laurie Constantinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04662040688336742830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706674097322845247.post-38768991009087495702009-01-15T08:58:00.000-05:002009-01-15T08:58:00.000-05:00Thank you all for your comments! I was hoping someone would be able to tell me a little about it before I read some online reviews and made a decision. Good to know a fellow blogger in particular wasn't happy with it--thanks so much!Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08497881043950251929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706674097322845247.post-11243540604927157952009-01-15T08:49:00.000-05:002009-01-15T08:49:00.000-05:00Maria, i love the pairing of Soutzoukakia and hilo...Maria, i love the pairing of Soutzoukakia and hilopitakia. Thanks for the inspiration!
On pasta machines, I got the kitchen aid attachment that extrudes pasta and wasn't happy with it, so I bought an Atlas pasta machine instead and like the result much, much better. You can get the Atlas machines for a good price on ebay.Laurie Constantinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04662040688336742830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706674097322845247.post-686780715401594692009-01-15T04:56:00.000-05:002009-01-15T04:56:00.000-05:00Mmmmm Maria, that sauce looks so rich and flavourf...Mmmmm Maria, that sauce looks so rich and flavourful!!!! I have never tried them with meatballs so I must try these soon. Maria, do get a pasta machine attachment. I've made hilopites about a year ago http://kopiaste.org/2008/02/makarounotes-hilopites/ and they were delicious but there are so many pitas you can make as well and it is a piece of cake to make them.
Thanks for participating at PPN.Ivyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12370053555998889434noreply@blogger.com
